Surface Model Week 2 Process

 Surface Model Day 2 Process This week we were tasked to unfold and get our models ready for the laser cutter. As seen in my last weeks model it's pretty straight forward to unfold. I was able to unfold and prepare for the laser cutter in a short amount of time.  Here are the steps I took to unfold and prepare: It was pretty easy to unfold and to make 2D. I was struggling at first of how to unfold because I didn't have a base for my model. My friend suggested to add a base to the bottom and have it all connected by that. She's an absolute genius and solved my problem.  I wasn't sure if this is new but when you Make 2D it forms a new layer for the object you used  the command for. Maybe it's a Mac OS thing. I'm just getting use to using my laptop for Rhino and when I try to render my objects it crashes. I'm lucky to have my desktop so I can do all the rendering from there. Thank goodness for one-drive so I can access my files cross-platform quickly and easily...

Chicken 1 (Did the chicken or egg come first?)

 Did the Chicken or the Egg come first? My clock project made an unexpected turn from my original idea. My original idea was inspired by my  fat chicken plushy named Chicken Little. I was determined to make it work, and I did. However upon further research I realized that someone had already made a 3d printable clock very similar to my design. Of course the models were different sizes and shapes but I was a bit upset that someone had the same idea. So I went back to the drawing board.   I was edited my chicken and deleted the body and I saw the new vision. How could something look  so stupid yet so amazing at the same time!!
