 Surface Model Day 2 Process

This week we were tasked to unfold and get our models ready for the laser cutter. As seen
in my last weeks model it's pretty straight forward to unfold. I was able to unfold and prepare
for the laser cutter in a short amount of time. 

Here are the steps I took to unfold and prepare:












It was pretty easy to unfold and to make 2D. I was struggling at first of how to unfold because
I didn't have a base for my model. My friend suggested to add a base to the bottom and have it
all connectedby that. She's an absolute genius and solved my problem. 

I wasn't sure if this is new but when you Make 2D it forms a new layer for the object you used
 the command for. Maybe it's a Mac OS thing. I'm just getting use to using my laptop for Rhino
and when I try to render my objects it crashes. I'm lucky to have my desktop so I can do all the
rendering from there. Thank goodness for one-drive so I can access my files cross-platform
quickly and easily. 

I ran into an odd problem when I was changing layers. I moved my lines into that layer and they
wouldn't change to the colour I set for my layer. However when I draw in that layer the lines are
the colour I set. It was very odd so I ended up drawing over the lines.

Final Experimental

 Final Experiment   Our original idea we had was to print on fabric to create designs. We ended up changing our idea, I was in charge of drawing out our character on the CNC machine. A process we are quite familiar with already. I found this time a lot easier and was able to quickly set it up and hit start. Here are the images of what we have done.  Here is the version with working stages of putting together the final piece.  We decided to add more detail by using a 3D pen!!!! Wow it looks so good!!! Putting the C in ConeBRO

Putting the C in Cone Bro     Was having a hard time thinking of what I wanted to do. After looking through my sketchbook I found this sketch. I admit it's definitely not the best quality. However the cone is fun.  Surprisingly it was super easy to transfer into Rhino, which I definitely didn't expect. This is the final product with the lines. I would like to go back and add more sections to add more lines for shading. The bottom half the sheet needs some love. It is all experimental and I'm experimenting with lines as much as I can. I'm waiting for the solution to come to me. Which is what a good night sleep will do. Solves all my problems, usually.  One problem I ran into was the top part of the cone, I'm not able to apply any lines to it. I grafted it and tried to do it on it's own but it still didn't work.
